Our Product Line
A cut above the rest
The RAKTEL loggers with axle sensors have been successfully implemented as Toll Traffic Monitoring stations at Toll Plazas operated in South Africa. The data from these dual-station installations provide an excellent independent check on the toll operators and have proved to be an indispensable deterrent against fraudulent activities at the plazas. These systems are a standard requirement of the South African Roads Agency Limited for monitoring their toll operations.
To verify the performance of the loggers the TelWinPro software support program now can control multiple video cameras in both compressed video stream and frame grab modes. This provides an excellent tool in the data Quality Assurance process. This function is also used when calibrating High Speed Weighing In Motion (HSWIM) sites.
Mikros Systems, through its license agreement with the NITRR for capacitive weighing technology, developed the Vehicle Load Monitor (VLM). Mikros Systems has developed a unique range of capacitive sensors capable of being used in Low Speed or High Speed Weigh-in-Motion applications.
The latest Low Speed Weighing Motion product includes the MASS 5000 and the MASS 6000. These are based on low profile load Ceil wheel sensors that allows for both dynamic and accurate static weighing. The MASS 5000 uses two 0,9 m portable wheel load sensors. The MASS 6000 is used for permanent and semi permanent installations and has two 1.3 x 0.9 m platforms.
The MASS 5000 is ideally suited for calibration and verification of HSWIM sites using the random vehicle method.
Mikros Systems is currently involved in the N1 (Ben Schoeman) ITS project. On this 6 lane freeway between Pretoria and Johannesburg there are 20 monitoring sites where the RAKTEL loggers relay in real time complete individual vehicle data to a control centers data server. More than 3 000 000 vehicles information is recorded daily via fiber optic TCP-IP connection. The main purpose of this exercise is to calibrate and improve incident detection algorithms.

MASS 5000 is a robust portable Low Speed Weigh In Motion system. The system consists of two low profile load cell weigh sensors (rated 40 ton each), a hand held control terminal and a set of leveler mats. The system is supported by the MASS 5010 software that can control the weigh process and video cameras with frame grab. The MASS 5010 provides information for both law enforcement and bulk yard delivery applications (in and out trip matching). - more |
