The MASS 5000 is a portable Low Speed Weigh In Motion (LSWIM) axle scale from Mikros Systems. It weighs individual axles and totals them for gross vehicle mass measurement. Weighing is accomplished by a vehicle driving slowly over the system, thereby saving valuable time in comparison to static weighing processes. The MASS 5000 uses two 900 mm wide sensors. Four leveler approach mats are used to ensure that axle combinations are kept at the same level as the scales when weighing. The system is supported by the MASS 5010 control program. |

Product detail
- MASS-5000 is a Weighing-In-Motion portable axle screening scale manufactured by Mikros Systems. It consists of two low profile axle mass sensors, a Terminal (readout and control) unit and four leveler mats (optional).
- The system is portable and can be transported in the trunk of a medium-sized car. The system can be deployed within 10 minutes.
- The system can usually be operated by one or two persons (excluding the personnel needed for traffic control).
- The system is also available fully installed into a small baggage trailer. In this configuration additional equipment such as traffic cones, umbrella, folding chairs and table can be supplied. This allows for the system to be stored as a complete unit at all times making quick deployment possible.
- The system has rechargeable batteries that can last for up to 16 hrs with continuous use. Because the system automatically turns off when not active it can be used for more than 16 hrs. The system can be operated and charged from any 12V DC source. It can also be charged from the mains power, using the supplied charger.
- Two modes of operation are available. In the manual mode, weighing is controlled by the [Start] and [Stop] keys. In the automatic mode, weighing is controlled by means of time-outs between two consecutive vehicles.
- The system can be used in a single sensor mode. However this decreases weighing accuracy.
