28.05.2008NRA Evaluation Trails
Mikros Traffic Monitoring successfully completed evaluation trails that were a prerequisite for the awarding of the South African National Road Agency’s national traffic monitoring and toll audit contract.
Not only was the technical ability of the equipment evaluated but also the complete support and maintenance capability.
The trails were held during November and December 2007. Mikros Systems was one of three companies that participated in the trails. Mikros Traffic Monitoring under took the trails with two Mikros RAKTEL (loop piezo loop) loggers that where placed 30 m apart. The data from the loggers was verified using the new MonCam system
As a result of these trails Mikros Traffic Monitoring has been awarded the contract to undertake all National road traffic monitoring and the Toll Audit for plazas that are the NRA’s responsibility.

MASS (Mikros Axle Scale System)

MASS 5000 is a robust portable Low Speed Weigh In Motion system. The system consists of two low profile load cell weigh sensors (rated 40 ton each), a hand held control terminal and a set of leveler mats. The system is supported by the MASS 5010 software that can control the weigh process and video cameras with frame grab. The MASS 5010 provides information for both law enforcement and bulk yard delivery applications (in and out trip matching). - more |

A family of traffic data loggers ranging from the RAKTEL 8010 to the RAKTEL 1010 all sharing the same interface cards and support software. The loggers are used for applications such as loop only traffic monitoring, axle based classification and High Speed Weighing In Motion. - more |
